What happens

What we actually do to your headlights.

This is not a quick polish. The yellowed UV layer comes off, then a new clear coat goes on.

Internal moisture or cracks inside the lens cannot be restored, and we tell you before starting.

  1. 01

    Inspect & protect

We check for internal moisture or crazing, pop the hood, and mask the surrounding paint before any sanding starts.

  2. 02

Sand off the failed UV layer

Progressive wet sanding removes the yellowed outer layer so the lens is smooth, clean, and ready for coating.

  3. 03

    Bond new UV clear coat

Two coats of 3M urethane clear coat bond to the lens, flashing it clear and protecting it from the sun.

Three ways to book — pick whatever's easiest.

Tap-to-text is fastest (most jobs are booked in two messages). The form below is good if you want to send a photo, explain what you need, or share the best windows for us to come by.

What we'll ask:

  • Year / make / model
  • A photo of the headlights (if you can)
  • Your street so we can route by neighborhood

We'll text you back within a few hours with available slots.

Months

No-yellowing
guarantee

Our promise

If your headlights yellow within six months, we redo them free.

We don't polish dead plastic. We chemically bond a brand-new 3M urethane UV clear coat to the lens. If it ever yellows inside 180 days, text us a photo and we'll come back and re-apply at no charge.

You didn't know

Most drivers don't know any of this — until someone tells them.

Headlight cloudiness creeps in so slowly your eyes adjust to it. Then you ride in someone else's car at night and realize the road actually looks brighter. Three things to know before you ignore yours another year:

~50%

less night-time light

Yellowed lenses scatter and absorb light before it hits the road. Your bulbs are fine — the lens is the problem.

5–7 yrs

is all it takes

The factory UV layer breaks down from sun, road salt, and washes. Almost every car develops it. Most owners never notice the slow fade.

$400+

per side at a body shop

New OEM headlight housings run $400–$800 each, plus install. Restoration brings the same lens back to clear for $80 flat.

How it stacks up

Three ways people handle yellowed headlights.

Two of them work. Only one of them works and doesn't run you four figures or leave you scrubbing for nothing. Here's the plain comparison.

DIY polish kit

Yellows in 30 days

$15–25

Buffs the existing yellow factory UV layer to a temporary shine. The dead plastic is still there — sun cooks it yellow again in a few weeks.

Our 3M chemical clear coat

6-month guarantee

$80

We sand the dead UV layer completely off (500 → 800 → 1500 → 3000 grit) and chemically bond a brand-new 3M urethane UV clear coat to the bare lens.

New OEM headlights

Plus install

$400–800/side

Brand-new factory housings from the dealer. Looks great, but you're paying $400+ per side plus body-shop labor — for the same end result restoration gives you.

The 45-minute process

Yellow to crystal — step by step.

Same disciplined process, every car, every time.

  1. 01 5 min

    Pre-flight check

We inspect for internal moisture or crazing inside the lens (we can't fix those — and we tell you up front). Then we mask the bumper and lower fenders with 3M green tape.

  2. 02 20 min

    Strip the dead UV plastic

Wet-sand the old factory UV coat off with progressive grits — 500 → 800 → 1500 → 3000. The lens goes from yellow crust to perfectly smooth and uniformly matte.

  3. 03 5 min

    Decontaminate

Compressed air blows water from every crevice. Wax-and-grease remover wipe-down so the surface is bone-dry and silicone-free.

  4. 04 10 min

    Bond the 3M clear coat

Two coats of 3M 32516 urethane UV clear, applied horizontally with 50% overlap. The lens flashes crystal clear in seconds — you'll see the difference instantly.

  5. 05 5 min

    Cure & reveal

UV cures in sunlight. Tape comes off, gear gets packed, and you pay by Cash App QR or cash. We text you the before/after photos.

Frequently asked

Quick answers.

How long does it actually last?

We back every job with a 6-month no-yellowing guarantee. If the lens yellows within 180 days, we come back and re-coat it free. In real life, our restorations can hold up for years — but six months is what we put in writing.

More technical →

Cheap polish kits don’t actually fix the problem — they buff the existing dead UV layer to a shine, which is gone again within weeks of sun exposure. We strip that layer off and chemically bond a fresh urethane UV clear coat to the bare lens. That bond is why we can guarantee the year. Sun, weather, and washes still wear it eventually — but the curve is much, much flatter.

How long does the appointment take?

A standard pair of headlights takes about 45 minutes in your driveway. Larger lenses or odd geometries can run an hour. You don’t have to leave your car at a shop or sit in a waiting room — go inside, do your thing, we’ll knock when it’s done.

What if my lens has condensation or cracks inside?

We restore the outside of the lens. Internal moisture, water droplets behind the plastic, or “crazing” (micro-cracks inside the polycarbonate) are housing-seal problems an exterior coat can’t fix. We always check first and point those out before we sand anything, so you can decide whether to proceed.

Got a lot of cars that need this?  We do on-lot service for dealerships and body shops — volume pricing on request.
